Believe the battery was the only thing he added. Not really any different than probably 99.9% of 24/25 ERs though.
Yes, go figure.
To save a few buck with one charger standard on ER 24's and 25's?
And nearly double the time to fully charge it....what were they thinking?
And give away an 80A capable EVSE at the same time?

Scratching my head.

Being the owner of a '24 ER Flash with the single 48 amp charger and a FCSP, I will tell you that the 48 amp charging at home is simply NOT an issue for the vast majority of users. The one and only time it was a slight issue for me is one time when I had intentionally ran the battery fairly low (mid teens), and was intending to charge to 100% for BMS calibration. Because I needed to leave by 0800 the following morning, I did the math and realized that I needed to start the charge an hour earlier than I normally would. That meant that for the first hour I was at my higher TOU electric rate.

With the 48 amp charger, and a ER battery, I get just slightly over 10KW into the battery charge rate. That comes out to about 7.65 percent per hour - or about 2/3 of full capacity in a short overnight. That's close to 200 miles. Is 200 a day when at home a limitation. I'm sure for a few people it is, but not most.

and how about the weight? is it the exact same for 98kw and 131kw?
lol. impossible to get a straight answer here.

Forcing me to ask questions in a brutally direct way:

Question 1: what is the weight of the 131kw battery pack?

Question 2: what is the weight of the 98kw battery pack?
Outta the blue question four months later (LOL)

I've heard others say that about the FCSP. What seems to be the problem with it? I've had mine for about 4 months with no issue
I can tell you mine errors out once things get real cold, like < 20°F. It will also randomly error out if I have preferred charge or departure times set.

2022 Pro SR upgraded to ER
I had my SR swapped for an ER yesterday. Would be nice to have the 2nd charger for 80A but I wouldn’t pay more than a few hundred for it. I haven’t DC charged yet as I’m waiting to get down to less than 30% but I did confirm I can get over 500hp out of it according to Car Scanner. Will post an update in the other thread once I see DC speeds.
but to confirm - exact same shape and size battery pack

Nice. Where did you get it swapped? And was it a used pack for discount?

Picked up a used pack off eBay. Had it swapped out at a local independent EV shop in Portland, OR. WattWorks.
That's the guy with Out Of Spec right? He seems to be a good resource to have close.

Interesting.
I recall someone on the Leaf forum may have said they upgraded their battery there (24kWh for a 72kWh).

I bet they could add another charger too?

Interesting, I've never used departure times. I'll usually charge up and run it down to about 20 or so, plug in charge up and unplug it. Takes about a month and a half or so between charges. It just works.
Fair. That said, the truck is meant to be plugged in daily. In the Great Lakes region where I live plugging in daily has the added benefit of keeping the pack above freezing and gives me the ability to precondition the pack before trips. Keeping the truck plugged in also keep the 12V at a higher SoC. Finally the most important reason I charge daily is that my truck is my homes source of backup power.

Yes I remember people putting a second 24kWh battery in the back in the early days, have to see what the second battery is in this video...it is loading slowly to my browser...ok, wow, that's a wild modification!

Now Leaf owners are getting plug and play packs from China/Japan with 3 times the 24kWh of the originals that fit in the same space as the old one, giving the Leaf easily a 200-300+ mile range.

My Leaf still has about an 85% capacity, and that still works for my needs...plus the tariff situation makes getting the upgrade packs more expensive now, so maybe in another few years I'll think about an upgrade.

Actually I am more likely to buy an Aptera when they go into production (hopefully later this year), the just got a new CEO with a lot of experience in the auto industry - hopefully that's a good thing?

All trucks with the ER batteries had dual chargers... Then the Flash sized battery (123kWh) came along with only 1 charger, ...
Actually, only ER batteries for 22-23 had the dual charger. But starting in 2024, all trucks (SR, ER, Flash, Lariat, Platinum) had the single charger - including the original Job 1 Flash which had the 131 kWh battery. Job 2 of that year introduced the 123 kWh battery.

Only Fleet Pro and Fleet Flash could get the dual charger as an option. It's all in the 2024 Order Guide thread.
