It varies by state. Some states require dealers to title a vehicle in their name to use as a demo, loaner, or for employee use. If so, that starts the clock.I purchased a demo model and was surprised to find out that the warranty date was the date it was put into service as a demo unit. Which meant I lost 8 months on the warranty. I did get them to give me an extended warrant out to 42/42k when I complained about it. But things like Ford nav and BlueCruise where still tied to that warranty date. I don't know if it's treated different with the finance guy driving it vs it being a demo unit, but I point it out to say that I would want it in writing what the warranty date is and have it spelled out at what mileage on the truck/how long after that warranty date my coverage expires for repairs and services.
