well it does, cause me climbing in and out adds a chunk to it, just the initial starting value is wrong.

id assume disconnecting the 12v and reconnecting it would reset all the electronics too right? cause i did that last week for something else.
Yeah if there's no +12v then everything would eventually run out of juice and reboot. Sounds like either there is a calibration issue or a physical hardware/sensor issue within the scale system. If it were me I'd run the calibration procedure in Forscan and see what happens (make a backup of your code first).

yeah thats on my list of things to try just a little further down. wondering if maybe worn shocks might be a cause? how does it sense ride height?

Onboard scales is poorly implemented IMO.
Here are my screens with no load and 150 lb reminder off and then on:

Ford F-150 Lightning 2022 Lariat - Onboard scales say 650 pounds is in an empty truck? 1751041524946-44

Note with the passenger reminder, a blue bar and the +150 appears at the bottom of the graph.

Is this similar to your observation? Note the number at the top (1682 in my case) is not the weight but the cargo capacity of your specific truck from the tire placard.

You might reference this post. There is also a scale mode but I haven't figured it out:

Yes, BM exactly how mine is acting and what im talking about, except my green bar is up just past midway up without the passenger reminder on, and halfway up to the next line above half with it on.

The scale is to zero out and weigh specific things going in. like how much does this box of junk weigh on its own.

This is what I'm seeing, only extra weight is my 253 # butt and tonneau cover.
I adjusted for the passenger weight on/off

The scale sensor is between frame rail and swing arm left rear wheel

Thats exactly what im seeing, picture wise. might be a tad higher but i think its right about that. any idea why they are so high empty? Im thinking its gotta be wear on the shocks thats allowing more weight down onto the sensors. I cant think of anything else.

I couldn't agree more - this is one of the most poorly implemented things ever. I've looked at the scales a few times over 3 years and still scratch my head at exactly what they are trying to tell me and how I read that.

Plus I know the capabilities of these trucks. I see what landscapers and construction guys do every day on the streets here. Their 20 year old trucks are loaded down with several times that weight and they don't seem to be having a problem 😁

Another thread pointing out how bad the UI of the scales is.
A: There should be means to calibrate it to zero.
B: The passenger stuff is confusing. Maybe make that automatic by detecting butts in seats using the sensors used for the setbelt reminders.
C: The scale is confusing. The number should be labeled as the max payload.
D: The scale should continue beyond the max payload. That is when I really care - how much OVER the max payload am I at? 10 lbs or over 1000 lbs over - big differene.
E: It should display the current loaded weight with a number. ALWAYS. Don't care if its not accurate or legal for trade.

Ford (probably): “It can’t be a problem if it doesn’t exist!”
