I’m assuming this means my canbus is encrypted. I have an April built 2024. A bunch of errors pop up on the dash steering assist fault, pre collision assist not available, service advanced track. And my Air Conditioning won’t kick in.

If you were encrypted you would get a message about SECoC not being supported.

This just means you have a combination of OTAs comma hasn't seen yet.

The errors are normal, that is why Uncle Tony is getting the custom USB couplers (and I designed the extension harness).

Which sofwtare did you install?

Blue pilot 3.1

Disregard. I just had to select f150 lightning 22-23 as the vehicle and everything came to life. Errors went away after it finished booting. I’m so excited to finally have OP back.

So couple of things I’ve noticed. The steering seems to be very limited even at lower speeds. Definitely designed for the highway. Other than that BluePilot does really well. The Hyundai we have will handle that same set of turns without breaking a sweat.

Hyundai controls steering wheel angle directly. Ford uses a very complex system. write up here:

big turns are possible, but the firmware wasn't designe for it, and can cause massive issues, see here how it can't straighten up and I hvae to snatch the wheel:

I have some logic that can handle curvy roads, but it is very very twitchy. Everytime I try to smooth it out, it starts struggling again.

Unfortunate update for the connectors. I had sent them to JLC PCB and missed setting the board thickness to the proper size. They are refusing to work with me on correcting it without sending in an entirely new order and paying for everything a second time (80% of the charges were assembly fee's for assembly that was never completed). So I have sent the files over to PCB way to have them start production while my credit card company fights with JLC. I will update once production has started on the PCB way boards.

Sorry to hear that. Board thickness for the clamp-board connector crossed my mind when I was looking at this - wish I would have mentioned it out loud to you.

Yeah, it was stupid mistake, I was too focused on the assembly portion I guess. I was just surprised at their unwillingness to help correct the issue even after I offered to pay for the production of the boards a second time. I'm just not willing to fork out all the extra they charged for assembly again when they never completed it the first time.

Live and learn I suppose.

is there are an easy way for me to test that build that required you to intervene on the turn. That’s exactly how OP behaved in the Hyundai on turns and honestly I’d just grab the wheel once it reached the desired angle to stop it from going further then I’d turn the wheel back and it would normally just snap back to center. It’s like OP couldn’t detect when the turn was done until it was pretty much too late. I’d be interested in trying it out.

There is just too much liability in this world filled with lawyers for me to share code that has all the safety checks disabled.

Another update on the PCB's, they have been in production with PCBway for about a week now. They are estimating 18 - 20 days for assembly to be completed. I will post again once I have them in my possession. I placed a smaller order after having issues with JLC, so I will have 4 available from the first batch.

With the finalized adapter possibly 30+ days out - I can make a breakout board with more permanent resistors soldered into the board instead of jumpered so ya'll don't have to wait to get rid of the errors. DM me if you want one, they will be cheap since they are just a stop gap solution.

My breakout board and resistors are working great. Looking forward to the PCB adapter for a cleaner look.
