Does this happen to anyone else? Maybe it's just an Illinois thing, or even an I-88 thing. Or maybe the truck is having an identity crisis and can't decide whether it's a bus or not. I don't know. It's really annoying though.
When driving on the interstate the adaptive cruise control sees the regular speed limit sign and speeds up to 70, then a short while later sees the Busses speed limit sign and slows back down to 65. For a while I thought it was really neat that the truck recognized the signs rather than using a pre-populated database of speed limits, but now that this is happening I wish it just knew that the speed limit is 70mph all along that stretch...

I have sign recognition off and will rely on the adaptive control if I ever use cruise control. Should be able to make that change in your vehicle settings.

They need to get rid of the auto adjust speed feature.

Just turn it off in the settings. The truck still displays the read signs.

Never turned mine on to adapt to signs, never will.

That feature is downright dangerous, especially during rush hour.

When your truck sees a 10 MPH decrease (or thinks it does - it had a bad habit of picking up random signage and thinking it was a speed limit sign) and jam on the brakes...

...I've been nearly rear-ended by stop-and-go and rush hour close hustle traffic too much in the first week of commuting with it to leave that feature turned on. It doesn't ramp down the speed it DUMPS the speed as fast as it can.

Ford's GNC engineers need to be rounded up and fired. Honestly the quality of the software is such that I think they let the interns write all the code. Or maybe all they have is interns. Or they were all recently interns. The feel of all the software does not scream "experienced".

I believe for your year model the setting you want to turn off is Predictive Speed Assist under Adaptive Cruise Control. On older models (BC 1.0) it was labelled Speed Sign Recognition.

My truck has been slowing down lately before entering a curve on the highway. I will have cruise locked on 70 mph and it abruptly slows ot down right before the curve. I hate this and It never did this before.

I thought it was a new feature as a result of an update. Had anyone experienced this?

Yes, it's a feature of BlueCruise 1.4. It didn't used to do this because it forced you to take over steering around corners it couldn't handle. Now it steers around corners but slows down a little. Nice trade-off in my estimation.

There's been a few times that speed sign recognition left me with a pucker event. Last time I was set at 70mph and in the right lane, 18 wheeler in front of me, cars beside me and it saw a limit decrease and backed off.

After a little while it jumped back up when it saw the speed sign increase but that truck in front of me didn't, woooo here we go, that thing tried to rear end the truck, luckily I was paying attention and tapped the brake.

Blue cruise needs work that's for damn sure

It will accelerate, truck won't, and it will slow.

Yeah, I think is a good idea too but it slows down even on a slight curve. I don't like it. Is there a way to disable it? I did find on curves and cruise control without this feature.

Thanks.

I had issue with the sign recognition and automatic speed adjustment. So I turned off the automatic speed adjustment and just check the little speed limit sign on the dash board.
The system will read signs on adjacent or crossing roads and then drop from 35-20, or in one place regularly goes from 30 to 85! I have yet to be able to figure out where the 85 reading comes from.
The auto speed adjust feature is not ready for prime time.

This, mine would pick up side street signs, commercial vehicle, etc. Caused all kinds of issues.
