I usually drive with some light gloves in winter time, but adjusting temperature or opening my garage door requires me to remove my gloves. Not a great solution in heavy weather, when hands on the steering wheel is a necessity. I Asia they use sausages to enable touch while gloved, but I am not going down that road.

Do every American drive gloveless? Or do Ford sell touch-enabled driving gloves?

You can buy gloves that still work on device screens. Ford probably does not sell any though. Just look on Amazon or Walmart.

Fleet Feet has nice selection of thin running gloves and many have the finger pad for phone use.

My deerskin leather gloves work the touchscreen most of the time. I also have some from Amazon that also work: https://a.co/d/2jFu6Uh

I carry gloves just for in case outside need but use steering wheel heat 1 bar to keep hands warm. We’ve mild winter weather. My father commented that drivers & passengers of autos of the 20’s & 30’s typically had winter car coats, lap blankets, wore gloves to survive winter trips.

News to me that steering wheel heat has settings...

I always forget that! Old habits die hard. Touchscreens with gloves are not quite an old habit, but old enough to cause frustration!

Once the wheel is warm, there's zero reason to drive with gloves on.

My goal is for the truck to be 80° by the time I get in. Nevermind gloves, I don't even want to wear a jacket while driving.

Changing temperatures is not a problem for us XLT owners 😏
