Frunk Open/Close failure

I searched the forum but couldn’t find anything related. I try to open/close the frunk via the phone and I get “open/close fail”. Odd thing is I can lock/unlock as well as condition the cab via the phone. It’s just the open or close of the frunk and tail gate via the BT button. Any ideas ?

I tried replicating your situation, truck was locked and sitting in the driveway, it's been parked for about 90+ minutes since our morning coffee run.

While still locked, I tried opening the tailgate, the lights flashed but the tailgate did not open, I got the red x error message on the Fordpass app that the request failed.

Next I sent an unlock command via Fordpass, the mirrors, flipped out, lights flashed.

Next I requested a tailgate open, lights flashed, beeping commenced and tailgate opened, I then closed it.

Next I requested a Frunk open, lights flashed, beeping & frunk opened, then I closed it.

Next I re-locked the truck via Fordpass, all secure

Next I tried opening the tailgate while locked, the truck automatically unlocked and then lights flashed, beeping and tailgate opened.

Next I sent the tailgate command, lights flashed, beeping, gate closed and mirrors flipped to the door locked position.

Try this on your truck, likely the sensors and process are out of sync and doing these steps righted the issues.

Ya. Nope. I’m talking about 5 feet away it won’t work. Something isn’t right. Hopefully the Ford folks who responded may have some insight. And yes ….BT is on.

From my easy chair, pressed the "Aladdin" icon on the Iphone, and presto-- the frunk arose! Pressed it again, and abra-cadabra, the frunk sunk back.smooth into its groove. And speaking of smooth, I swear the Beast drives like its flying on Alladin's carpet, no shag in this ride--
