Google maps not planning charging stops

Hi,

I've been struggling to get this to work.

I have a pixel 9 that pairs fine with the truck, no Android Auto issues.

Google maps loads fine and plots directions fine.

But it won't plan stops. I'm entering the destination in the Google maps on the touch screen in the truck and the truck knows the destination is too far away (orange under range remaining)

Ford navigation works fine and plans the stops.

Any suggestions of what to try?

I think there is a Sync update that you need to receive for Google Maps to show the chargers.

You didn't have any selected on your google maps route. Try viewing gmaps in full screen and add the stops.

Not sure I understand what you mean. Yes I can add a stop to maps and those can be EV charging locations...but I was under the impression EV routing would add them automatically, where I need them and how long I need to charge like Ford navigation or ABRP.

This is not working on my 24 Flash also, even after 10.1.1 so I think they have not pushed some part of the software udpate that enables this feature in Android Auto yet. Even though it says it requires 10.1.0 in their own help documenation... its quite confusing and frustrating.

I'm also on the same position my 2024 flash is on 10.1.1 and no karaoke and the google maps battery percentage.

This is the point I've reached as well. Sync and gmaps software updates confirmed, truck setup in gmaps with connectors added but no EV charging stops or battery percentage. Ford support is blaming Google.

As mentioned a couple times above, your '24 Lightnings are missing one of the OTA's that fully enables the integration.

USE THE FEEDBACK utility in SYNC to blast Ford about the problem, if enough of you complain through this utility it ~might~ get someone's attention to push what's missing

So, speaking of Google Maps and charging stops... (mine does plan it btw)

I experienced a really annoying feature and its that if your battery is expected to be low at your destination (10% in my case) it'll include a charging stops without you asking for it.

I was picking up relatives from the airport and used the navigation to get home, because we have road construction literally everywhere (summertime in Michigan) and road closures changes daily. The navigation insisted on taking a weird route and it made no sense so in the end I turned it off, once I got onto I75 I turned it back on as a test and it insisted on charging at the fast charging station that's literally 400yards from my house/destination, despite being able to make it with 10% left.

I did not add a charge stop or hit a "please include a stop", just go home and start navigation.

I poked around in the settings and I couldn't find a "arrive with a minimum charge of X%" setting either.

For someone who has this working: Off topic slightly but under plugs and adapters, he checked Tesla. I just chose NACS (and CCS1). Will choosing Tesla give you stations that we can’t use or does Maps know those as well?

Just looking to use for trip tomorrow so haven’t tested yet
