If you're concerned about the GOM now....just wait until winter...
Yes in the winter you definitely need it plugged in prior to departure and precondition the battery and preheat the cabin while on the charger. At departure I lower my cabin temp and turn on my seat heter and steering wheel.

Bottom line – for local driving it doesn’t make a bit of difference. Plug it in when you get home and you never have to worry. On a long trip we’re getting to the point where there are plenty of charging stations. Don’t overcharge and you won’t be sitting around too much longer than when you fill up the gas tank. Enjoy the stops and you’ll simply love this vehicle. If you are the type that simply doesn’t want to make a stop, than this isn’t the truck for you.

For my $0.02...

Early April I was driving around the greater Vancouver and Frsaer Valley area, all the way up to Squamish. Decently sunny spring weather.

I did 107km of driving on the highways (but highways with traffic, and then a twisty roller coaster highway, so averaged probably 80kmh or 50mph), and I got 27kwh/100km. With a 131 usable battery, this is an implied range of 485km, or about 95% of the EPA estimated 510km range.

So yea, the truck can and will get its efficiency rating. But if you are driving at 60-70mph or more, at constant speed without any slowing down for corners, traffic, etc., yes in my experience 400km (or about 250 miles) is probably accurate.

AND....my Guess-o-meter on the instrument cluster still shows an implied range of 400kms when full. Even though I know that it can do more.

Keep your foot out of it and off the highway and you’ll see the range. On the highway you’ll lose 10-20% with wind and whatever your speed is. Get the charging adapter for the Tesla superchargers and you’ll be fine.

Gotta use that sport mode. Always seems to get me 5-10% extra range over the entire charge and the regen braking/one pedal engages with quite a bit more speed and intensity.

You got the standard range battery on your flash on accident I’d call ford BEV team get a ticket going and apt to get it fixed. It happens.
