Clipped by Chevy S10 striking behind passenger rear wheel, sent into spin, t-boned guard rail, bounced back into spin, bounced back around wrapping around end of guard rail into ditch.

Snowy interstate, 55 mph.

Drivable, unable to access frunk, passenger side 100% involved. Gas engine wouldn't have survived due to extreme damage to frunk.

Sluggish to start charging, decide to charge at public charging so if started fire, wouldn't torch the house.

Predicted to be totaled, hopefully.

Sounds like everyone is ok, thank goodness. It's sad every time we lose another of these amazing trucks.

I spun out once of my own ignorance when I lived in Ohio. Haven grown up in Phoenix, AZ I was not accustomed to driving in the snow. I changed lanes too quickly and found myself spinning across oncoming traffic lanes. Thankfully it was late at night and there was no on coming traffic. I found myself on the curb and only my pride was injured when the guy I was trying to pass came back to check on me. I drive A LOT more carefully now in that kind of weather. I hope the S10 driver was not being careless and simply lost traction themself.

Isn't that what the insurance companies are doing these days? Totaling the car with even minor damage, then giving you an offensively low check. All the while selling the carcass to Coparts or some such outfit at roughly the same price they're giving you for your truck. Feels like a scam. That was my most recnt experience. Maybe it's just the low quality insurance companies.

I think to a certain extent, yes, especially with EV's, but here's my experience.
The day before Thanksgiving 2023, I was going to pick up my partner from getting her cancer infusion.
Highway 4, 3 lanes of Wall to wall cars, I pull into the off ramp lane (all clear, no cars) and start to speed up. from my left side a car comes charging over and hits my front driver tire, and takes out that front quarter of the truck. Truck got towed to auto body shop, I contacted Ins. with some back and forth . . my truck was totaled. $20k worth of damage, on a $20k valued truck. I paid $36k for it new in 2007.
My 2007 Taco 4x4. had $16k depreciation over 16 years, I was OK with that.
That Taco is part of the reason I'm in my GREAT 23" Lightning now. $20k and my bank account bought my new ride. Was planing on selling my 96" ranger and keeping the Taco, but God had other plans....

He claimed I hit him, I cry BS. I am sure will be a 50/50 fault due to no witnesses, xant get my dashcam files to open. My insurance has been great so I know will be taken care of.
