Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced Power

Was everyone’s repair covered under warranty? I had the same error and it was the diverter, not a module and it wasn’t even covered under the 5 year 60k mile powertrain warranty. It doesn’t make sense, but luckily I have an extended warranty and just had to pay for the deductible. But I would think it should be covered under the powertrain warranty since the error I was receiving was a powertrain error.
@Ford Motor Company Any reason it wouldn’t be covered under the Powertrain warranty or even the 100k battery since this is a specific EV part according to my dealership?

2 weeks ago got the BECM fault after a failing 12v diagnosis. Today got a 2 modules and neg HV junction box and it'll be 2 weeks for the parts. Def not in a regional parts center ATM

My 23 Lightning battery module was covered under warranty. Only charged a couple of times at the house, but range is appearing now to be as it was before the problem.

Maybe they are supposed to be in Regional parts centers, but the Seattle one is out of stock for my modules. They have to come from the Midwest, so the plan or SOP is immaterial to customer need when it’s not within 1800 miles.

Got bitten by the power train / reduced power bug today. Down to 57% power. 2023 Lariet ER. First major issue but only 16616 miles after over 2 years which is not a lot of driving at all.

Also got this on my 2023 Lariat ER on Monday. It's at the dealer, they're replacing the valve.

I also noticed heat wasn't working.

Just drove it 15 miles, heat was working and NO Powertrain message.

Noticed my truck had been driven yesterday (8ish miles via FordApp).
Just called, was told that the work has been completed, they are charging it up, I should get a call back in a few hours to pick it up.

Timeline:

Truck bought Aug 26
Truck becomes brick Sep 6
Truck towed to dealer Sep 8
Truck fixed and back Oct 1 (pending)

Days with truck working like truck: 13
Days truck is paperweight: 2
Days at dealer: 23

34% actual drivable ownership time with truck...not bad.

from the time of diagnosis to picking up a working truck, what was your timetable? I was just diagnosed with the battery module #4 failure yesterday and was wondering what time range I can expect to get back my truck. My update yesterday was that they are ordering the part but no time estimate.

So from when I dropped it off to the dealer Sep 8th to getting it back on Oct 1st was less than a month. When they diagnosed the issue it was from Sept 9th to the 22nd.

They notified me of a battery module replacement ordered on the 22nd, so I would say from then, to getting my truck back, was a little over a week or so?

It just took them forever to get a specialist to do the diagnosis on it.



(Also should note, have had zero issues with my truck since and it is amazing.)

Could be as short as a week, or 6 weeks if Tech is backed up on other vehicles. One month seems typical. With your 20% limit on power, you can not drive it around until the parts get installed. Hope you can find a Ford rental so BEV customer service will cover beyond the $40/day rental limit ($60/day if on extended warranty?). Otherwise, they deny any extra cost beyond the very low daily limit.

Took it to the Weston Ford at Toronto

They said.. u need an update for the Battery module, 75 dollars for it. I said isn't that cover? because there was a CSP-23B57 recall about same issue. They said.. no!, Powertrain/Battery warranty doesn't cover it..

Called Ford Canada, they said they don't cover updates.. what a joke

Then I said ok 75 is ok I will pay for it..

Today I am going to pickup the truck and Weston ford said..

"Ups Mr,, the service representative you spoke with made a mistake. It is not 75 dollars is 645 for updates. Is that ok for u?" WTF Weston ford and ford service sucks

I will just take it to another dealer

That code usually means a bad cell in one of the 9 HV battery modules. And you are limited in power (left gauge) to 57% which is usually another confirmation of a bad cell. Find a Ford dealer with good EV tech(s)...good luck. Your 8yr 100kmile (150k km?) warranty will cover. Call Ford BEV customer service. Arrange for Ford rental so that BEV will cover what dealer will not.
