I have the BCM update (thus WAL is enabled), but I can't turn it off. I got this update, but I still can't turn it off. Seems like Ford missed something in this release ... like the actual change described? (yes I know it can be done via forscan)

Yes, it seems like this OTA is enabling the config for the buttons for WAL to show on some trucks and not for others. I've seen stuff like this happen with other OTA's in the years I've been following this. The BCM is update is mandatory for WAL to work.....the buttons you get with this update are secondary.

When you say it works, does it honk every time you walk away and it locks?

No. Mine didn’t start honking the horn when it locks. I have those functions turned off in the settings so it didn’t honk before when locking it manually or leaving the truck running and taking the key with me.

You should check those settings in your truck.

No, and it doesn’t actually work thought it did, but just tried it 2 more times & came back to an unlocked truck

Some F-150 Lightning customers (including folks in this thread) recently received a software update with release notes stating they received the Walk-Away Lock Feature. Unfortunately, the release notes were sent in error and the feature was not delivered. While we are working to deliver the Walk-Away Lock feature on equipped vehicles with Keyless Entry, the feature is not available at this time.

The team apologizes for any inconvenience and confusion this has caused. We look forward to sharing an update when it is ready for you to use.

Thanks Brian - it's probably worth noting that other members received a prior update which turned the walk-away-lock feature on, with no way to disable it, and the release notes also indicated that this situation would be fixed in this update (which it did not).

So are you saying something else was delivered and the release notes were wrong? If so, what was delivered, i.e. what are the real release notes?

I would assume it's like what the mach e received with this same update.

Nope. There is one setting for horn honks that I have had off since the truck was delivered.

There is a second setting for horn honks in the WAL menu -- the menu I still don't have.

My truck only honks on walkaway.

My truck only honks on walkaway.

Do you have it set to fold the mirrors on lock? Might turn that on, if not and see if it stops honking.

I got this update on Monday. I have no toggles and it does not activate. 2023 Lariat ER. I’m still on standard Bluecruise with no lane change.
