Hi. My single most important feature is that the truck steers itself via a weight attached to the steering wheel without being nagged. This is the main reason why I bought this truck, seriously. (I would never use Bluecruise and be tracked, or pay for it). My software is from 2022. I have many little problems and glitches and I would love to update everything to the current software, assuming Ford fixed alot of issues. My fear is that Ford recognised that people defeat the "put your hands on the wheel" nagging and updated the software to make this impossible. Is this a real concern and should I update or not? Thank you

He is likely using it on unmapped roads. They really should've added a touch sensitive wheel instead of going by torque. I had an ankle weight that I put on mine to get rid of the "keep hands on the wheel" nag as I apparently was never providing enough resistance (obviously because the truck was perfectly handling the road and didn't require any extra). I've since upgraded to a comma and still keep a loose grip of the wheel but it's cut out the nag entirely.

I have one of these on my Telsa and it looks like a factory item.... They don't sell them anymore on Amazon. Wondering where you got yours for your lightning. I have looked.

The system still monitors you visually, it just allows you to do things like eat a burger etc driving down the road. Though the Ford system seems very passive and when pushed to it's limited it simply gives up.

Yes, I don't have bluecruise and dont want it. My setup works really well, I have used it for 30k miles,, So no one knows if a software update might ruin this? Thanks

I'd like to hear more about this comma and where to get one and also hear about what the OP is using. My 25 Flash keeps nagging me all the time. Thanks.

I think he's using adaptive cruise control with lane keeping assistance turned on, this REQUIRES hands on wheel and the truck only knows your hands are on the wheel when you occasionally input counter steering action, the force can be very subtle to keep her happy.

Careful with what you wish for ...

The latter half of the Comma thread is probably the most pertinent. PM me and I can give you some basics so we don't get too off topic and clog this thread.

A vehicle at 60 MPH travels 88 feet in one second. In the time it takes for a person to figure out what to do with the hamburger in their hand, and get their hands on the steering wheel, it may mean that the piece of pipe hanging off the back of the truck stopped in front of them winds up sticking 87-1/2 feet out the back side of them.

I'm not aware of any update that would affect your use of a weight on the steering wheel. The truck just thinks it's your hand anyway. I think you'll be ok updating.

You could be like my 22 that never completes the update from 7 months ago. It just tries over and over and over again. Not failed, incomplete. Apparently there's no way to correct this without a dealer visit or buying online access to seeing what's wrong. My gorilla beast truck that runs on windows 98.
