2023 Lariat ER. Build date Oct 14, 2023@pmac1010 Please provide Year, model, ER/SR, and build date for the tracking sheet (in my signature). Not sure if the number of battery module failures are stabilizing yet.
This initially looked like my wrench. I got this today 4 min into the drive. It comes on a little after I turn on the truck. At first I had full power. Now at 96%. And didn’t notice any problem with my shifter.Ford App says Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power but dash display reads 100% power available no noticeable decrease in power, but not pushed hard.
I got the wrench on and off. Probably drove it for two weeks before it got fixed. Even months before that, I would occasionally notice the shifter being stiff.I am now part of the club too. I had 100% power when it happened but it is end of the day now and after turning it on and off several times, now I am getting 96% power. My hopes of having a gearshift problem is shifting to nightmare of module problem. Has any of you had your power go down gradually?
My HV battery leak Positive = 3.03V , Negative = 2.5V. Resistance 1627 kOhm (what do you guys have? I have old readings read zero and 1300 ). SOC module variation= 0.39%. 0V
Is it gearshift? Or battery module?
@Warren , what was your symptom? Did the wrench come and go? Or once it turned on, it stayed? Did you notice a problem with shifter? Mine works fine.
@SpaceEVDriver , did you have any power loss? I used the car scanner “Diagnostic Trouble Codes” under GSM and ran it. Didn’t get any code. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or this means mine is not a gearshift problem. Any ideas?

Did you notice any problems with your shifter? Did you find out if it was the actuator was the problem? A sensor? other electronics?
p.s. my wrench shows lower on status bar. I am not sure it is because my problem is battery module problem or my software is different than yours.

What do you think? I have battery or shifter problem?
Dealer told me to rent from Enterprise and they would cover cost, but then I find out only reimbursement to $40/day which does not cover the cheapest rental over this 7 week 25S18 recall repair (replaced 3 modules). Ford BEV also said that they would have covered extra if it was a Ford VIN for the rental. So much for any "goodwill" from these creeps, @Ford Motor Company and the dealer. The long delay was due to both the dealer Tech availability (working on a Mach-E was one of the delaying factors) and the Ford requirement to drop the battery pack to inspect before providing replacements, even though they knew which modules had to be replaced.By the way, there was no loaner vehicle available, so rented a small truck. Afterwards, when I called the Ford BEV hotline, they said Ford would reimburse for a rental, but it had to be a Ford (I was given a Toyota, so out for this week's rental). Really think the service department at the dealer should have told me this was an option.
Don’t worry too much about the current GOM readings. It takes several days and multiple charge cycles to to balance the multiple modules. It should return to normal in a while.Follow up on our Power Malfunction/Reduced Acceleration.
This all started on 9/5/25. Thank goodness it was after our trip from North Carolina to Indiana and back. One week later on Sept. 5. We got our 23 F150 Lightning back yesterday Friday Oct. 17.
Ford had sent the wrong battery module dealership said so took a couple of days more. Through conversation with the service representative this was either his first time or the dealerships first time with the battery swap. Crossing fingers. I did notice through the app on my cell phone it says 100%, the truck had only charged to 305 miles at the dealership using their charger. Truck itself on the dash says 308. Before all this happened, we would get 320 to 328 at 100% charging. I would have thought it would be back to what it was. To be fair maybe need to charge a few times to get an accurate estimate and I need to check the truck. Maybe it was set to 90% and that limited it. Is that app telling me reached 100% charging of the set 90%. I will check the truck this morning.
We are happy to have it back. We do really like it. I can't help but wonder if this is going to happen again. Hope not. At 63 headed towards retirement, this I had hoped was the last pickup I was buying.
Thanks to everyone here posting. The information is great. Curious how many battery replacements have happened vs total Lightnings produced.
Thanks again.
