My beautiful 2023 Lightning Lariat ER in Azure Grey was involved in a crash and looks to be totaled. Fortunately no injuries! Big transit van decided to U-turn into my truck.
I don't owe any money on it, so once I get a settlement I will put into a new or used truck. With all our collective experience with electric trucks, any recommendations on what to get? I'm leaning towards another Lightning, either Lariat or Platinum, probably 2023 or 2024 with low miles.

Glad to hear there were no injuries.

I’d get another Lightning. Even though there are things I wish were different about it, there’s no other truck that even comes close to meeting my particular needs.

Ouch! I'm glad there were no serious injuries.
Before buying used I'd try the new route. A few dealerships are offering 0% APR and more.
And don't hesitate to buy from out-of-state. Just check with your local tag agency/DMV on sales tax and any "impact fees" before purchase.

I wouldn't get another Lightning, solely because of range. Range is king. Especially if you tow. It's a shame the Lightning doesn't have the range of the Silverado EV. That would be a game changer.

I've seen more wrecked Lightnings online than not wrecked ones lately. Don't know what's going on. But I'm glad you're OK.

That is a real bummer. I’m seeing a lot of totaled Lightning posts in various places (Facebook, Reddit) due to deer season too. If it were me I’d try to find another Lightning, probably used with low miles and one that matches or exceeds the trim level and features I already have.

I have seen in other threads where even the slightest damage insurance companies are righting them off as totaled. If the frame is not bent I and the battery is not damaged I would consider getting a hold of Martin Rebuilds and see if it were possible to have it fixed. If you search on youtube you can find some examples he has done. I have heard of cases where you can buy it back from the insurance company for like scrap value. That color Azure Gray you have is a rare color and it sure looks nice. I doubt you would find another one very easily.

Glad everyone is safe, I’d buy a new Lariat. Holiday season is coming and I’m sure you’ll find good financing deals hopefully 0 APR. Good luck.

Glad no one was hurt. I'm in the "would buy another Lightning" camp. Probably a used 22-23 with at least fewer miles than I currently have (51k). I want the dual on board charger so I can take full advantage of the FCSP.

The lightning has much better efficiency and I'd wager that unless you splurge for the 203kwh pack you wouldn't notice a difference. The Silverado would be my second pick followed by the rivian. Otherwise I'm going back to gas.

Pricewise though you can't beat the Ford.

Glad you're ok!

If you don't need the slightly longer range of the Lariat ER, I'd get a Platinum. While the cost differential isn't justifiable to me when buying new, the differential shrinks when buying used.
