The new software will command the parking pawl to reengage if it fails to engage on the initial try. Originally, when it would fail to engage no corrective action was taken. In Ford's testing if it failed to engage the first time it always engaged on a second try. So that's what the software update will be programmed to do.My guess is that they will program the parking brake to engage at all times when you go into Park with the shifter. This is how our Toyota Highlander works.
Not sure anyone would want to depend on them pushing it out OTA.I’m wondering why they aren’t just pushing the update OTA with the option to bring it in to the dealer. I recall reading that Tesla pushes recalls OTA, so it shouldn’t be a regulatory issue. And the Ford servers query the trucks modules all the time, so they should be able to confirm that the software got installed.

The original recall notice says they will deliver the fix OTA or via dealer service. See post 1. Maybe they changed their mind.I’m wondering why they aren’t just pushing the update OTA with the option to bring it in to the dealer. I can see the update is available, but no OTA campaign on my truck right now. It looks like it is just the ABS Module and the SOBDMC module. The reported size of the updates is tiny. Ford could easily push this and save dealer visits for thousands of us. (I believe the ACM update shown on my list was already completed and just won't clear.)Ford has done recall updates OTA.
There may be OTA limitations. It may not be technically possible to do all types of software updates OTA.
Mine went away in the app also, but still shows on Ford website. Crazy how they (the website and the app) constantly misalign.I haven’t gotten the truck serviced and somehow the recall has disappeared from my FordPass.
Looks like mine appears on the web as well, even though it’s gone from the appMine went away in the app also, but still shows on Ford website. Crazy how they (the website and the app) constantly misalign.
I’m currently on ver 6.6.0Probably why v6.6.0 was quickly rushed to testing & deployment, I wonder if they fixed this issue in that release, I haven't gotten it yet. Anyone else gotten V6.6.0 and seen issues like the recalls section return?
Strike that idea, maybe it'll be fixed down the road in 6.x.x LOLLooks like mine appears on the web as well, even though it’s gone from the app
