I got a notification on the Ford app that there’s a hidden active recall. Made the appointment at my local Ford dealership when I got there I was told that that recall is not applicable to the Ford lightning. Not sure if the dealerships blow and smoke or if it’s sincerely is not applicable to the Ford lightning. Does anyone have any ideas

I don't see this recall in my app (it shows that there are none), but I did get a snail mail letter last month describing this exact recall and saying that parts aren't yet available but they will contact me when parts are available.

The recall is real, but the software fix is only available for 24-25 Lightning right now. Mine was done on Monday.

This is the status for 25C69 as of this morning in PTS (3 Mar 26)...posting this so you can manage expectations.

Can the Software Verification Approval Code be obtained by us mere mortals using FDRS or is that a Dealer Only little Diddy?

(I had this recall performed by Ford Mobile Service yesterday, but wondering it I could've done it myself using FDRS.)

Crossing my fingers Ford releases the fix for 22-23 models sooner than later.

Bought a 2023 new old stock from a dealer a month ago as of today and they won't release it to me until the recall fix is applied.

Pain :(

The dealerships finance manager was driving it for a couple years to work/to home apparently, 12000 miles on it but it was never sold or registered so I get full term warranty just with some mileage on the truck already.

I was bugging a sales guy about another truck which had already sold and he mentioned their finance guy had been driving a Lightning they didn't have listed and could probably sell it to me. Got a good deal on it and now I'm just playing the waiting game to collect.

As independent operators you’ll notice what looks like a ‘generic’ dealership code is pre-populated just above the TSB selection dropdown box. I have selected the FSA and verified updates that satisfied the software requirements in the past and received the ‘code’. Problem is since you’re not working at an authorized Ford/Lincoln shop you can’t use the code to fill out the required form in PTS to clear the recall. But you can still take comfort in the warm glow you get knowing that you completed that recall and life can now go forward. I always get ice cream afterwards to celebrate.

Interesting Parking Brake change in my 2022 LER - got in it a couple of weeks ago & attempted to drive forward. Truck had been sitting on level ground for 2 weeks charging on L1. Truck tail-ducked when I attempted to move forward - parking brake on rear wheels were locked. Fix was to put it back in Park & then disengage the PBrake. The truck won't release the PBrake now in Drive. The truck got SYNC 25.2.1.6.5.2 on 2/07/26 and noticed that issue afterwards. My 2023 LER doesn't exhibit that feature even after FDRS module updates last week.

Since this Parking Brake/pawl recall is not yet available for '22 & '23, are you just sharing that the SYNC update changed the parking brake behaviour (sort of like if the parking brake recall had been applied)?

Just trying to decipher, correctly. My '23 does like yours, put it in gear (almost like stepping on pedal twice) and it auto-disables the parking brake).

I will definitely post back here the minute I see that update (SOBDMC) show up for my '22 model.

I purchased a demo model and was surprised to find out that the warranty date was the date it was put into service as a demo unit. Which meant I lost 8 months on the warranty. I did get them to give me an extended warrant out to 42/42k when I complained about it. But things like Ford nav and BlueCruise where still tied to that warranty date. I don't know if it's treated different with the finance guy driving it vs it being a demo unit, but I point it out to say that I would want it in writing what the warranty date is and have it spelled out at what mileage on the truck/how long after that warranty date my coverage expires for repairs and services.
