Technically you are correct. Co-pilot assist on paper is equivalent to Tesla Basic Autopilot. In practice, a lot of the lane centering assist systems aren't aggressive enough about keeping you centered and will disengage without warning on curvy roads. I haven't tested the Ford lane centering system myself so I can't say for sure if it's the same way, but this was my experience with Honda, Toyota and Hyundai.

With the upcoming BlueCruise 1.3 should be a game changer for hands free driving.

I think now those of us that bought a 2023 Lariat ER at the old price now have a valid justification for applying for the $7,500 tax credit. The tax law states that the MSRP can’t be over $80k but even though I paid over $80k the exact same Lariat with options is now under $80k. How can the IRS argue that the additional price I paid wasn’t just ADM?

It can also be argued that the IRS rules when I bought my truck were still in transition and I believed there was a strong possibility that I would qualify for the tax credit even at the old price. There was the issue whether options like the extended range battery was included in the MSRP. At this point I plan to apply for tax credit and fight for it if I get any resistance from the IRS.

I think I have a lot better chance of getting the tax credit than getting a rebate from Ford. Unless Ford decides to give us a rebate out of the goodness of their heart I don’t think we have a prayer of getting the price difference back. If any of you can think of a good argument that would persuade Ford to give us the rebate I would like to hear it.

You have to submit your vin on the tax form and they will verify the MSRP as printed on the sticker. I don't think you'll be able to get around this. But good luck.

Think Ford will provide a goodwill refund or credit like they did when they dropped the Mach E price earlier this year? They should. We kept our reservation commitments and kept their factory going when the increased prices on the 2023s.

Yup, certain they will since the Mach E dropped in Feb '23 and gave out half check and half Ford pass points for those that paid the higher price within a certain period of time.

How many Mach E's had been sold at the higher prices and Ford gave a rebate too? These prices have been in effect now for 8 plus months and for what 15K trucks? I'm not sure Ford is willing to cough up that kind of dough.

They screwed the 20% who went through with their reservations.

This thread is like a mirror of the Tesla thread when they slashed prices. There really is no recourse here and they can adjust prices up or down. It sucks being someone who paid the higher price, especially if it was just in the last month or so. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to minimize what you're going through. I'm a bit salty about it too. Like I said earlier in this thread, if I were able to order a bit sooner, I would've been price-protected. Like about a week off for me.... But I've owned the truck for 7 months now and it's a great truck. My biggest complaint is I'm traveling a lot lately and can't drive it as much as I'd like.

The manufacturers will send the IRS a report after the close of the calendar year list all the VIN which were deemed qualified for the federal credit, if the VIN you submit isn't on the list it's likely the claim will be rejected during processing, and if not rejected immediately and the credit is issued and refunded to you, it's still within the statute of limitations [3 years] for a compliance review process known as "Under Reported Analysis" you might get a special letter about a year + later.

I would like to see Ford review all the closed sales for CY23 up to 7/16/2023 and reevaluate them enlight of this pricing change, retroactively putting many folks in a better position, that's a speculative wish not binding on Ford to actually do something like this. Those trucks passing muster would get their VIN in the annual report and Ford could send you a letter /statement your truck is now qualified.

You can have a F150 Pro for low $50s in early 2024, or hold out and hope for a base Chevy WT....eventually...at a price that is TBD. That's the way I see it anyway, for those who are at the low end of the BEV pickup market.
