Please please try to eliminate so many abbreviations. Like many others, really enjoy the site but often confused by abbreviations
Y R U confd?

I've copied a resource created on the Mach-E forum to our forum located on this thread:

Won't work. That requires too much effort.

That list looks like it came from the US government. Who in the world can remember all that.
Open a browser window, and type into it that term you don't understand.

There are definitely a larger number of Lightnings with failing battery modules than any of us here would have liked to see. It makes all of us a little more uncomfortable than we’d like for sure.

That’s what retirement is all about - getting lazy. I’m 87 years old and worked pretty darn hard all my life. Give me a break 🥹

I certainly didn't expect High Voltage battery failures with just a little over 23k miles. No DC charging. Local driving mostly 55 mph.
Miles driven is irrelevant. You have a 2022, like many of us. Many threads here about the battery packets failing. It was just a matter of time IMO. DC charging has nothing to do with it, that's the HVBJB on the Mach-E...

I think you're right in that sweet spot for them to start happening. 5-25k miles it feels like

Losing three (3) battery modules (and all at once) certainly trumps the two I have lost over 20k miles and 20 months. It’s a common and well documented issue. What we don’t know is how likely are the remaining original battery modules to fail before the end of the 8 year/100,000 mile battery warranty expires. Regardless, it must be costing Ford a fortune in warranty costs.

Also, we don't know yet about the possible 1200+ Lightnings covered by the NHTSA and Canada Safety Recalls for fire risk that isn't limited by age or mileage. These are the trucks currently suggested to charge only to 80%.

Costs for a recall like this would fall to the battery supplier.

I'm concerned about the damage these bad modules have caused to the other 6 modules too. As a retired electrician and a solar equipment installer I understand all battery cells connected in series or parallel are effected by each other. My truck is currently still in the shop. I decided to splurge and purchased a Launch X431 CRP919 EV car Scanner. It's designed specifically for EV'S and reviews say it has excellent diagnostics on HV battery modules. I will be keeping a close watch on the SOH of my battery from now on and request module replacements before they damage other modules as I'm sure what happened with me.

I am currently in the process of having one module replaced. Before it went into the shop Car Scanner was showing 100% for the battery state of health. So I don't think it reliably tells you anything about the health of the HVB.
