Many years ago(20 or more) I was looking for a new insurance company and I am a consumer reports subscriber and they always recommended USAA and Amica as the top rated insurance companies!
I had a Amica for one year or maybe two and then they were raising their deductible on roofs from 1% to 2% so I started looking again and my Dad got a policy (I think he just got a $25 policy for jewelry or something) with USAA so that I could use it as a legacy. I cannot say enough about how good USAA is. I know they are not necessarily the cheapest, but they are definitely the best!

I tried to look on consumer reports(mobile app), but I could not find their insurance rankings??

Insurance premiums vary depending on location. I'm in a state i believe with the highest rate in the country thanks to hurricanes and flood! For the past 10 years our Insurance has been creeping up year after year! Zero claims but always $100 to $500 bump at renewal! So I frequently swap carriers with my agent.
Currently with progressive but will probably change again next month. The year before I was with National Insurance. I had Geico once but a long time ago.
I consider all Insurance companies the same. They collect your money but then are difficult to deal with when you actually need them. That is why I have no loyalty to any of them. I just go with the cheapest for the same amount of coverage. Good luck
