Ford F-150 Lightning SUCCESS: Battery Pack MODULE Replacement: '22 Pro SR @ 62,000 miles 100% ready

after Module replacement: CHARGING perfectly

also, as to the question of maybe in the future Modules may be able to have only the certain CELL removed, and replaced... I can guarantee that this is what FORD is doing, already...
but, right now, the process and technical aspects of removing and replacing a single cell is much more involved... it makes more sense for FORD to simply provide and replace a new MODULE, for expediency reasons, under warranty, versus trying to manage the specific CELL replacement. This way CELL replacements can be done more cautiously back at Ford, or a third-party contractor.

as for reference, and experience, I have personally repaired/replaced a CELL within a large 6v battery within my motorhome, which, along with 3 others wired in Series and in Parallel, to gain 12v power, to power the INVERTER for 120v power within the RV...
Only ONE of the 3 CELLS within this particular battery was low, and at low voltage. I was able to DRAIN the cell, replace the cell with the proper battery acid solution, and eventually RECHARGE the cell/battery back up to the regular VOLTAGE output, successfully... but, it's a process. As most of us would do, we just replace the whole battery 'module', especially if it's under warranty.

Last I heard they are sent for destructive reclamation.

https://www.blackridgeresearch.com/...op-recycling-services-companies-in-the-world?

According to Redwood, it launched “the world’s first and most comprehensive electric vehicle battery recycling program” in California.

As part of this program, Redwood worked with partners, including Ford Motor Company, Toyota, Volkswagen Group of America, and Volvo Cars, and dismantlers to collect and recycle lithium-ion and nickel metal hydride (NiMH) vehicle batteries.
