Might not be completely the same, but I regularly run my bed power for multiple hours. I use it for brewing beer via 240v.
I 'start' the truck, power on the bed, which disables the 30 minute timer, and that is about it. I run power from the bed for about 5 hours.

Oh, I also sometimes run the 120v for the pumps while brewing. Just kind of depends if I'm lazy to run an extension cable back to my garage or just utilize the power in the truck.

I have the same issue last time, i have a 2024 lariat. The dealer change the inverter, after that works fine. you need a load of at least 100watts for the outlet to be on.

This is what's expected. You need constant load to keep pro power on. The 30 min timer toggle allows pro power to remain on while the truck is off, assuming there is constant load.

Wait, I thought I needed to leave the truck powered on to keep the outlets on.

like I said, it’s shutting down in approx. 6 min with no load at all. The cooler is small with a minimum load. If it can’t handle that, it’s useless anyway. If you think plugging a light in might give me some info, I’ll try it
JFC, go plug in a hairdryer or something.

Your truck can't. 2024 MYs and up can though. Unless we get this feature in a software update, that is.

Though with the constant load requirement I'd be turning on the truck anyway since the things I'd be powering (sump pump; heater; etc..) may not come on frequently enough.

I think there is something else going on with these reports of PPOB randomly shuting off. As a test I have been running ProPower with no load for about four hours today. My truck is a '23 Lariat with a June 2023 build date. The shut off PPOB option is set for 30-mile range left on the truck.

If this problem is the result of a software change, then Ford needs to correct it. Not all use cases for backup power are continuous loads. Consider job site power, heating, refrigeration, or medical devices.

One thought for those which have experienced the problem would be to check the coolant level in the truck reservoir. The invertor might be shutting down from a cooling problem.

The difference may be because yours is a 2023. PPOB is different on '24 like the OP has. It allows PPOB while vehicle is off but apparently also implements a 6-minute timer if no load.

In his original post, the issue occurs when he is powered off.

He needs 2024 owners to verify that his is working abnormal (with truck off). I think it is fine with vehicle on like yours.

Even though all my settings are CORRECT , my plug in outlets all power off after about 6 minutes when i shut off the truck. The lightning flash screen has a toggle that says the power will stay on after the truck is turned off and will reset when i turn the truck on again. The only way I can keep the outlets hot is to turn the accessory on(pressing the on button without touching the brake pedal) but then I have to manually turn everything off that I don’t want (Radio, heat etc). I’ve set an appt at the dealer. Anyone have this issue and solved it. I tried disconnecting the 12v battery as well as doing a complete reset. HELP?
Karlo,

I have a 2024 and experienced this yesterday when trying to pre-cool the cooler prior to a trip. I eventually left the truck ON in my garage to keep the power to the bed outlets.

I just went out and tried it again. I’ll report back in 7 minutes ?

@Karlo

I BELIEVE I FOUND THE PROBLEM AND SOLUTION!

I just got in the truck
left the driver door open
started the truck
Selected Pro Power
Turned on bed outlets
Selected “Keep Power On while vehicle os OFF”
Then turned the truck OFF
exited the truck

and a few minutes after turning off the truck the bed outlets turned OFF. ?

Then 2nd time
I got in the truck
SHUT THE DRIVER DOOR
Started the truck,
selected Pro Power
turned on the Bed Outlets
selected toggle “Keep Power ON when Vehicle is OFF”.
Turned OFF the truck
exited the truck

AND HERE It Is 25 Minutes later outlet power is still ON!!!

So it seems the solution is to close driver door BEFORE starting the truck and making setting selections.

Im sure I’ve done that, but I will go try it now. Fingers crossed

@Karlo,

UPDATE. After 26 minutes, the cooler went from 104 degrees and reached target temp of 33 degrees and the Pro Power shut down. ?

So it looks also like the Pro Power will remain on only when a minimal current load is detected and turn off with truck power OFF and the current load is zero.

It shut off after about 6 min AGAIN! This idea of the truck shutting off with no load is not what anybody wants. If I’m at a job site and it shuts off after a few minutes of non use, we would be restarting the truck a hundred times a day. It makes zero sense. If you’re running an electric cooler to keep your food preserved and it continually shuts down I’d spend half of my trip monitoring the system. The screen says”leave power on when truck is shut off”. That shouldn’t come with conditions. If there is no draw on the outlets then you’re not using any juice and there should be no need for the truck to shut off power. I can’t wait to talk with the technician at the dealership!!!

@Ford Motor Company we've got a problem.
