Thank you @GoodSam

module #7 problem for my 2022 lariat truck

1FT6W1EV3NWGxxxxx

Error P0B24 and 57% power

They told me they r waiting for parts 😞

What the percentage of fail after 1st fail?? Is it likely?
I don’t have the statistics, but from following these failures it appears to be totally random. You are probably as likely to have second fail as I am to have my first.

Ford will never release the statistics, but I would love to know what the actual failure rates are. They said likely 4% two years ago but have not discussed it since.

Hard to say, based on what I have tracked in my spreadsheet, look for Red font (link in my signature below) most multiple module failures are detected at the same time at the dealer. But there has been maybe a couple that had to go in a second time.

On the bright side, you'll get some free windshield washer fluid.

When I take it in for 10k service, they don't bother with wiper fluid. Basically, everything looks good and we rotated your tires.

Thank you. I bought this vehicle less than 3 months ago as Ford Certified EV with 24k miles. It is a 2024 Lariat ER built 5/24. Anything else you need?

I hadn't thought to try and charge but I just tried it now and got a red circle.

Looks bad for a failed battery module with the charge level stopping at 57% and not going higher. If the dealer determines it is a battery module other folks have been able to drive while waiting for parts to arrive. Sorry, perhaps someone else has better idea???

Taking it in on Tuesday. It's not charging so I won't be able to drive it while waiting for parts. I am surprised at how boring it is to drive it at 57%.

Try not to let the battery get below 50% charge. Your service technician will thank you.

Well after almost a year of ownership and 15k miles, sadly I became a member of this exclusive club last week. Got the yellow wrench, power limited to 57% and no DCFC available (charge rate limited to 20kwh). Which is a bummer as I have been travelling lately (Chicago for NYE and these days Austin TX). So it is like i'm charging at home whenever I pull up to a tesla supercharger!lol! At least it is charging and the truck drives fine.
Brought it to Covert Ford in Austin today and to my surprise they were able to do a diagnostic the same day. I was told the few BEV techs they have were overbooked and it would be early next week to work on mine. Bottom line the SA said I need a new HVB. I asked if it was just a specific module and he said no a new battery 🤷‍♂️. The part is in order but there is no ETA!!
Everything is covered under the powertrain warranty and i'm in a rental until the truck gets fixed....

Service Advisor probably does not know the HV battery terminology, thinking that you meant a single cell in a module, not just one of the nine battery modules, with a total of 96 cell groups. Would be pretty nice to have the complete battery pack of nine modules replaced! Keep us informed...what is your build date on the driver's door sticker? See my signature for a spreadsheet of the other members in this club, like myself - I had the Safety Recall concerning modules that had possible misaligned cell pouches, 3 of the 9 modules were replaced.

I feel your pain. I posted earlier and I'm still waiting for my truck.

Dropped off on 12/22, after 10 days was told battery was on backorder. After another 10 days was told they have the battery and they were waiting on adhesive. Now they are waiting on the 1 EV tech to work through their backlog. They now say it should be ready by 1/21.

And I thought having to wait a week for my mach to get diagnosed was bad....think again.

Well I actually asked him twice telling him there are 9 modules. So which one was failing? He just said new HVB. I'll keep you posted.
I don't recall the build date (maybe 6/22). I don't have the truck anymore.

Clear the error with an OBD2 scanner to restore DC fast charging until you can get it serviced. You’ll get normal charging rates to 80%. The truck cautiously reduces charge rate more than normal above this to protect the out of family cell voltage.

The error will return in a few days if you haven’t replaced the out of family cell (via module replacement). But, it keeps you from getting stranded.
