OMG that cabin filter charge is such a rip, for something that can be done in 60 seconds with a $10 filter replacement! My wife always fell for that one with her Prius.Got my IPM recall done at my local dealer this morning (not sure if they do mobile, I should have asked).
Took about 2 hours total. They did their "free inspection" and tried to get me to pay for a tire rotation. When I reminded them their service manager told me I'd get a free rotation after doing a 5-star review from a previous service they did it for free.
I asked them what their charge was for the 10K service and she said, "Well, there's really nothing but a rotation.", so I guess the answer is the $24.95 they tried to charge me today. Then she mentioned the cabin filter at future intervals.
Relatively painless, and nice to see they aren't trying to gouge Lightning owners for the servicings.
My dealership called me up about the recall and said they were trying to get them all done with the mobile service rather than in the shop.
When the guy shows up, I'll ask him if there are any other modules that could use an update - I heard there was one for the BlueTooth issues some of us have had with disconnects and drop-outs that I was planning on complaining about next service visit.
Fingers crossed.
