Seems to be VIN specific. I’ve never lost a preset or charge location and I see others who lose them on almost every OTA.

Think I had it happen once but I don't wait long enough to get many updates OTA.

My truck updated last night. I also had all (didn't check everything) my presets erased. Truck was charged to 100% instead of the 85% it was set to. All my radio stations were gone. My red tailgate light in the bottom right corner showed that my tailgate was open but it was closed. I pressed the button to open it and it just fell like a rock. I then pressed the button to close it and it gave a message that the power tailgate is not available. So I went out and manually closed it. It started to work normally later on in the day. It also turned on the fake driving audio by itself. Not sure what other things got reset because I was busy using the truck and didn't have the time to go through it all.

I just thought it must have done some kind of hard reset after the update. Not a big deal to me but just reporting it here because it doesn't seem that its happening to others, or maybe it is.

Leave the truck on for like 6 hours+ (just turn off lights, any ac/heat, etc.). That should help a lot to charge the 12V battery.

Also need to disable the 30 minute timer. This has also worked for me as well as putting a dumb battery maintainer on for an extended period of time. Both give the 12V a chance to fully charge.

Received/installed this update last night. This morning truck would not remote start, the drivers screen yet again reverted to Ford's choices, and I lost all of my radio presets. Annoying.

I should take/save a photo of my radio presets so that when this happens again (does it with any software update I have ever received), I will have the list/order of my preferred stations.

It was a chore, but after several tries, I finally got PT-25.8.5 to work with a new 12 volt battery and turning off automatic headlight.

On the bright side, it is good to know that the update is in place and I have a new, dependable battery for our big trip coming up this weekend.

Jumping in here because I know how annoying it is to hop in the truck and realize your charge settings have vanished. I grabbed some time with the engineering team to understand what has happened.

Here is the lowdown:

The powertrain update is doing some housekeeping behind the scenes to make your stored settings more resilient during future updates. The catch? The system can clear current settings in the process. I know it’s a hassle to set them back up (it’s definitely not my favorite hobby either), but the good news is that once you do the team has said that they shouldn't be affected by future updates.

The update is rolling out now to 2022/2023 trucks with a version for 2024s coming in the future.

Thank you for the explanation about the disappearing charge settings. Do you have any information on why my radio stations are reset after every update? Takes me time to reprogram, and similarly annoying to losing charge settings.

Mine failed with a 90% 12V SOC... I just put it on the battery tender, see what happens overnight.
