I think you have the latest for a 2022. I am also on 25.2.1.6.5 (received in May likely because of Early Access) and haven't seen any 2022's get the higher version. That was my last OTA as well.

The truck drives like I want so I don't stress over getting OTA's. Got the biggies like BC 1.4, WAL, etc. and FORScan has given me glare-free headlights and quiet, no-chime startup (i.e., bliss). Plus we got to enjoy a great truck for over 3 years vs. the 2025 owners!

I assume at some point we will get the parking brake OTA.

Don’t worry Ford has promised to give all Lightning owners the industry standard 10 year period of updates post discontinue announcement so by there past performance they still have a 7-8 year time frame to send you an update 😂. I’m in the same boat too, I’ve just given up on expecting Ford to do anything wrt OTA updates in a timely or predictable manner.

I strongly suspect we have seen the last of any updates for the Lightnings of all model years unless something is required by law. Why would Ford spend any money on something that won't and can't return the investment. It's not like we can come back and buy another one!

If Ford is practising good financial management, the development costs for supporting SYNC4/4A should be baked into the cost of the truck. Plus there are other still-in-production vehicles like the MachE that will help prop up ongoing support and improvements for the Lightning's infotainment stack.

I still don't have WAL because OTAs stopped for my truck before the necessary BCM update, and that module can't be updated through FDRS without dealer credentials.

Since I suspect the OTA to enable the toggles includes an APIM update, and those are now withdrawn from FDRS I see little point to trying to talk a dealer into doing the work for me. I suspect in practice my truck will never get updates again, despite Brian at @Ford Motor Company attempting to help. The only light I see on the horizon is that the recall may force the issue somehow.

Incredibly frustrating that it's come to this.

My 22 is stuck trying to install a frunk update (has failed about 20 times).
Good luck!
Charge up the 12v battery before the OTA trigger expires and you have to wait for it to be resent.

Is your truck connected to Wi-Fi? I have found that most updates will not occur if the truck is only on cellular. This is even true with my '24.
You are correct that 98% of updates come in through cellular. However, being connected to WiFi won't prevent updates from downloading. The vehicle will still download the files using the modem while connected WiFi.

Seems like that only applies to those on much older APIM versions? Think my 23 is on 25094 Revision 1779 but I've updated a lot in FDRS previously.

SSM 53966 - 2021-2025 Various Vehicles - SYNC4 - General System Performance And Stability - Programming No Longer Available
Some 2021-2025 Ford/ Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may not be able to perform an update to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM). This may be due to the software in the APIM. Ford Engineering has de-activated the ability to update these SYNC4 APIM modules as applicable, and the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will not present an update for the APIM module. Some existing directed repairs may be impacted, check Professional Technician System (PTS) before attempting any specific technical service bulletin (TSB)/special service message (SSM) and check field service action (FSA) landing pages before attempting any FSA repairs. For any vehicle repairs requiring a software update that includes an APIM update in the programming sequence, if the 5-digit product code for the APIM software is equal to or lower than 23187, do not attempt to update affected modules at this time. To determine the 5-digit product code for the APIM software on the vehicle, while the vehicle center display screen is powered up with ignition in run or accessory, go to Settings > General > About SYNC. Find the 5-digit code (example: “SYNC 4, Software Version: 23187_PRODUCT”). If further support is required, follow normal internal dealer escalation process.

Goodwill is a thing though. We could come back and buy another Ford product, theoretically, if we are happy with how they supported the last one.

But yeah the bean counters will probably win

Hi all,

I have a 2022 Lariat ER and have read in so many places about new updates lately but mine is still on SYNC-25.2.1.6.5.

I just checked and saw that newer versions have up to SYNC-25.2.4.9.

I am wondering if 2022 models are no longer getting any other OTA updates.

Is @Ford Motor Company already abandoning us? Why can’t we get the nice stuff on our amazing trucks?
Ford! Make us prouder and make the people who could not get these trucks anymore jealous.
Not abandoning y'all! Updates will be coming.

I would like to believe so, but I've heard versions of this all my life (ie. We will make it up later, you will be taken care of etc.) and it doesn't happen.

None of this is about you Brian. I appreciate you being here. I just don't believe Ford, and I'm likely done with them after 7 Fords. I don't tend to forget. I got a new Chevy at 18 that turned out to be a POS. 4 decades later, and I just can't seriously consider them.
