2012 F-250-XLT Powerstroke Diesel extended cab, it's was overkill for my use case.

I was glad to trade it in for my 2022 F-150 Lightning Lariat-ER, with all its creature comforts and hauling / with-in my needs.

2020 Raptor. While I LOVED that truck, the best part about it was telling people everything it was capable of. Unfortunately, where I live, there are no trails or areas to take advantage of it.

Going from a loud, rough riding Raptor to the lightning was night and day different. I love the Lightning. It makes the Raptor seem slow.

I replaced a 2021 Lariat and a 2018 Focus ST. Didn't see the need to keeping my "sporty" car when the truck does it better.

2013 GMC 2500HD and 2018 Malibu LT. Pre-Covid I used to commute 100 miles a day. Got tired of fueling the truck so got Malibu for efficiency. On second Malibu. Now work from home so looking forward to the Lightning. Gave up waiting for the Silverado EV.

Ford Fiesta ST (talk about small to big). On a more serious note, I also have a 2001 Supercrew Lariat 5.4L that I ordered from the factory. It was one of the first Supercrew trucks in this area. It's time to replace it. Always had a manual transmission except for the Supercrew. This one should be interesting!

Apologies for the longer post... My wife has loved the F150 for a long time.

In January 2014, we bought a new 2013 Ford Focus SE (standard transmission) to replace a minivan we no longer needed. In late 2016, we were in a position financially to get a second vehicle, though we had to first clear the crap out of one side of the garage. ;)

We really liked the Focus and since Ford made a BEV version, we seriously looked into this. The FFE was about $12k more than an ICE Focus with a comparable trim, but our provincial government had a $6k credit for EVs. This was changed to $14k by the time we bought, making the FFE about $1k cheaper after taxes.

The ICE Focus was primarily driven by my wife as her work was closer to home than mine. After a couple of months of driving the FFE, I was convinced to never buy an ICE vehicle again.

When I was away on business, my wife would drive the FFE to work and she marvelled at how it "drove like a dream", though she still wanted an F150 someday.

This was early 2018 and I said, "When Ford makes an electric F150, I'll buy you one."

About six months later, Ford revealed the prototype and the rest is history.🤷‍♂️
